Creating Reflections in Photoshop: A Step-by-Step Tutorial

Post-Processing

You want to create a reflection that looks realistic in Adobe Photoshop. While creating a realistic-looking reflection in Photoshop might appear difficult at first, it isn’t. It’s easy to do, you just need to follow the steps fairly carefully.

This article will explain how to use Photoshop to create reflective effects. This technique is particularly effective on images that have open pavement. It also works well if you use HDR Processing, which tends to make your pavement look already wet.

They all followed me through the steps. They were all using Photoshop Elements, which works fine but has slightly different menus and options. When I showed them the before and after images, many of my students said they were “Photoshop beginners.”

We were finished in less than 10 mins. Note that I went super slowly to make sure everyone in the class had the same page as me. If you read along, I will guess that this will only take 5 minutes. Ready? Go!
